The long weekend in October...

I Have some catching up to do. It's true, life's been crazy around here BUT here is some stuff from last weekend! Enjoy!

Dorm retreats can tucker you out - and this was on the way there! Only one of these dear friends of mine is actually sleeping - the other is a stand in... vote for which you think (Shauna or Tim) is acting for the camera. I assure you I could have posted about 50 pictures of kids and staff sleeping on the bus rides there and back. Fun times often leave you tired it seems :) we had lots of fun!

We took all our dorm kids who were not going home for the long weekend on a retreat to the Genting Amusement park about 5 hours away. Its on the top of the Genting Highlands and is about 5 hours away from Penang on the mainland. We had two busloads of kids and it was great fun (though exhausting - see above picture).

This is the view from my 13th floor window of our hotel with 6112 rooms in it. It is not the only hotel at Genting Highlands either. They were full up for the weekend. It was CRAZY beautiful and you'll notice I am wearing a vest and long sleeves in pictures below cause it was chilly! What a welcomed relief after 3 months of heat! We felt it when we got back home... the kids took off into the pool immediately!

THis is right before we shot over a hundred feet up in the air (We were already 6000feet above sea level at the top of the mountain we were on!) and then dropped and raised repeatedly before setting back down on the ground. I had JUST eaten at Kenny Rogers Chicken (treated by Tim and Shauna actually) and was just fine to go up and down with these two adventurers over and over. It was so fun! We could see the lightning coming from over a few mountain ranges and see the lights for miles and miles...

Me and mY very own bug/mouse (those are her nicknames - she insists that NO one else call her that because when they all started calling her that - it wasn't special anymore - we even had a talk about it in her dorm cause she was serious! I love her dearly no matter what I call her!)

This is Shauna and Tim and I right before we went Go-Carting. I had been watching what the fastest cars were all day while I hung out with the kids (I hadn't been feeling well and again came to the realisation that there are a LOT of people in ASIA!!! Holiday weekend in Malaysia EVERYOne seemed to head for Genting) SO I scooped the fast car and whooped 'em all. I love these two. Easily they are the ones who have made my transition here easiest. I love seeing them and miss them right now (they are on their 5 day break). They'll be back soon...

All in all, we had so much fun and our kids were all well behaved and we had zero issues (that I heard of anyway) on the trip! Way to Go guys!
